Online and Offline Literature

Literature is not strange word for all of us. That is one of sources for us to read. Now days, there are two main sources of literature that is online literature and offline literature. Then there is a polemic between us, which one is better source for us online or offline? In my opinion, based on article that I read I think online literature will lead and better than offline literature. Why is online literature lead or better than offline literature? Here is my reason to show or prove that online literature will lead or better.

First, based on my article that I read one of most important part of online literature namely internet which media that provide online literature. We cannot close our eyes to development of technology especially internet that develop very rapidly. Now days, our technology is advanced so with information, especially for internet that spread so fast like traffic without traffic lights, till people in remote areas could received it so fast. To access internet, people just provide a laptop plus modem or we are accessing internet by via hand phone if has equipped with facility internet but commonly they have it or if have much time we can go to internet café to update newest information. It is better than buy mass media or print media like magazine, newspaper, or the related one. How about watching television? For television, we cannot bring it everywhere to update information it is just in one place and many people don’t have television, I mean people or college student from afar who stay in boarding house mostly could not provide television, so that is the disadvantages. Information spread so fast as well as with literature in this case.

Second about literature, based on my article that I read, literature is created by human or always known as litterateur. In the very beginning, mostly literature is delivered in oral or verbal form because at that time there is no writing technology. The next era, writing development has been found, literature does not only deliver in verbal or oral form but it has been made or expressed in written form. The next era, technology more advanced then internet rise and literature could shared or written in internet itself. Literature has many kinds, such as: novel, poetry, short story, long story e.t.c. Litterateurs make literature to fulfill their desire in mind. But, mostly it just applied by people who have fame among us, courage to share their creation and other elements. How about other people who want to share their literature? People with limited time, limited funds, courage to share their literature, or something else. Then media that match with that condition is internet and in this media not only litterateurs can write and share their creation but for beginners or everyone can do it.

Based on my article that I read, online literature will lead or better and it is supported with appeared of famous site like Youtube, Google and Blog, even with social networking like Facebook, Twitter, etc. That media make online literature spread so fast. No need to wait so long, they can read or maybe download that literature at that time when it is shared. With that will be raising a lot of impromptu writer in that media which also increase their creativity. People could share their creation with each other and can enjoy by everyone, indirectly it could increase relationship between each other. Everyone can share their creation, it does not matter who they are.

Based on natural science, as we know literature in printed media needed paper to write that literature. Raw material of paper is wood that derived from tree. Let’s we say, to make some paper for literature let’s say we need one tree for a paper mill for one day to make some paper then that tree taken from forest. To make that one tree grow back to normal after replanted, it needed maybe one year and activity to make paper continue to be made. If that happen continuously, overtime that activity could decrease amount of forest and indirectly that activity will interfere natural balance. So that is why online literature is better than offline literature and it can impact on forest too.

My Solution for this to make literature continuously exist, online literature especially for literature itself is still maintain and develop in order to exist base on times in world. I hope the advanced of literature is same with advanced of technology because with technology especially for internet in this case, internet can share this literature for everyone in this world and of course it will useful for human life especially in education field. Indirectly, something like this can grow up human’s creativity and innovation in creating something. Also, movement like this presumably advance of literature in the future will find its passion again. But we cannot forget or heed the litterateurs with print media who still make this literature exist until now. We keep respect them as a litterateur and keep balanced between online literature and offline literature in order to make this offline literature or in printed media still there or exist.
